The Swiss driver had led more laps than anyone else in the season heading into Round 7. Now he finally has the win to match.
Nico Müller took his first Formula E victory at the 69th attempt on Saturday, winning the 2026 Hankook Berlin E-Prix for Porsche on the same weekend the Stuttgart manufacturer celebrated 75 years of motorsport competition.
The occasion could not have been more fitting. Müller started sixth, found himself inside the top ten heading into the pit stops, and then emerged from the lane with six minutes of Attack Mode and the pace to use it. He sliced through the top six to hit the front on lap 29 and never looked like losing it, crossing the line with four percentage points of energy to spare over the drivers behind him.
Nick Cassidy finished second for Citroën Racing, returning to the podium for the first time since his Mexico City victory earlier this season, with reigning champion Oliver Rowland third for Nissan. Polesitter Edoardo Mortara could not convert from the front for Mahindra and settled for fourth, though he leaves Berlin leading the drivers’ championship with just 14 points splitting the top four. Pascal Wehrlein failed to score after a puncture ended his afternoon early.
“It’s an honour to race in that car in front of the home crowd, and then to get your first win right here in Berlin on the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport,” Müller said. “Couldn’t be much better.”
With his family in the grandstands and a record-breaking weekend for Porsche as the backdrop, it is hard to argue with that.
Round 8 takes place at the same Tempelhof circuit on Sunday, with Porsche still leading Jaguar in both the teams’ and manufacturers’ championships and three titles very much still in play.
