Formula E have officially revealed the GEN4 electric race car, set to make its debut in the 2026/27 season.

The GEN4 stands as motorsport’s most sustainable race car, constructed from 100% recyclable materials, and setting a new benchmark for environmental responsibility.

It is also expected to be the most challenging FE car to master, prompting teams to appreciate their long-term contracts with experienced drivers as they head into the 2026/27 season next December.

The GEN4 will feature two aerodynamic configurations: a high downforce setup optimized for qualifying and a low downforce design tailored specifically for race conditions.

Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, stated, “The GEN4 is far more than a race car. It represents over a decade of progress, innovation, and ambition in electric racing.

“With GEN4, Formula E strengthens its position as the world’s most forward-thinking sport and a true racing pioneer.”

With the FIA and Formula E agreeing to extend the sport’s all-electric exclusivity status, the GEN4 propels Formula E to new heights in the world of motorsport.
